Join the Volunteer Training

At the Domestic Violence Center

September 4th - 16th, 2008

Volunteers are an essential part of the Domestic Violence Center. DVC's dedicated staff works very hard to provide quality programs and services to women and children. However, we cannot do this work alone and our volunteers are an invaluable resource to close existing gaps. The volunteer training will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the work you do. Some subjects that are included in the training are:
  • Domestic Violence Defined
  • Historical Perspectives on Domestic Violence
  • Agency Information (History and Programs)
  • Impact of Trauma on Children and Adults
  • Hotline Advocacy
  • Types of Abuse
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Cultural Awareness

If you would like to apply for this training, contact Laura Ross, Volunteer Coordinator.
