"RESPECT" Teen Dating Violence Prevention & Awareness Month

Each year since 2006, the Senate has declared the first week in February as “National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Week”. DVC is proud to recognize that now the entire month of February has been declared as “National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month!

The Senate resolution calls on people to educate their communities about this issue by planning activities that raise awareness. According to the website “Loveisrespect.org”, Teenage Research Unlimited conducted a study in 2006 to delve deeper into the issue of teen dating abuse, and the results showed that alarming numbers of teens experience and accept abusive behavior in dating relationships.
